Petrovka is a botanical space in St. Petersburg, reviving the legacy of the Peter the Great Hortus Botanicus from 1714. Here, historic varieties of aromatic and medicinal herbs are carefully cultivated for contemporary homes. The space serves as a vibrant green oasis amidst the northern metropolis, where anyone can escape the hustle of city life, restore their inner strength, and bring the warmth of living nature back into their home.
Logo and its usage variations
The entire graphic design of the project is intentionally built upon prints and stamps—the most honest visual language of the Petrine era. In the early 18th century, before digital printing existed and academic drawing demanded countless hours, the active Peter chose the most practical method: taking a live branch, dipping it in ink, and pressing it firmly onto the sheet. A print born this way is extremely precise, fast, and utilitarian. The same artisanal principle formed the basis of the logo: it is realized as a stamp.

Logo Stamp
The brand name aimed to reflect the product itself—the herb—and the contribution of Peter I. There were options like «Petr’s Herb» and «Petrotravy, ” which organically merged into the concise name „Petravka.“
Brand archetypes are directly connected to the Apothecary Garden:
60% — caregiver (the apothecary)
30% — creator (Peter’s nature)
10% — sage (botanist, academic)
