Concept
The central idea of this work is the contradiction between physical presence and the subjective feeling of one’s own absence. My task was to capture my own dissociative experience—a state where the surrounding world loses its coherence, and reality is perceived as simultaneously familiar and alien. It is a difficult-to-describe flow where a person continues to see the world but loses the ability to understand the context, their own place within it, or to connect all elements of their surroundings into a unified picture. Through glitches, overlays, and technical artifacts, the work investigates how the fragmentation of a digital image can mirror the dissolution of a person’s internal connection to reality.
