Khvatopus is a universal assistant for situations where something needs to be gripped, hung, attached, or held, regardless of the surrounding conditions.

CONCEPT
We often need to hang or attach things, but items are not always compatible, which is why there are many auxiliary accessories.

But what if there was only one universal subject?
USER
The primary users are travelers, athletes, students, and anyone who moves frequently and carries a lot of gear.
FUNCTION
Particular attention was paid to objects and places that have no hooks or grips, such as a locker door or a hat.
EMOTION
The subject should look fun and friendly, while also conveying a sense of calm—which is important in unclear situations.
FORM, COLOR, STYLE
The octopus—a creature often associated as a symbol of multitasking—has become a primary form.
Bright orange is not just a stylistic element. It helps locate a small detail more quickly if it has fallen or been misplaced.
The name «Khvatopus» comes from the words «octopus» and «to grasp.»
PRODUCTION
The dimensions of components, such as straps, were determined based on existing products. The mass of the «Grip» was approximately 350 g.
The Khvatopus includes: two small magnets for attaching light items, such as a phone or a towel, two long and short straps, a cube for positioning the straps at different angles and securing items, and two strong magnets for attaching heavy items. The two straps have grooves to hold a phone. The housing for the strong magnets, painted in an orange warning color, includes hooks for attaching items to a table.
Materials must be resistant to sunlight, frost, water, and dust, which was considered during their selection.
