Concept
The tapestry «Abyss» translates the internal architecture of the human heart into fabric. The pattern is composed of delicate lines that branch, diverge, and then merge again into smooth bundles. Between these lines are dark, oval apertures resembling chambers where these threads are stretched taut. The red background reads as living tissue, while the black outline and empty spaces lend it depth and weight. The lines do not repeat nor form a grid—they flow and transition into one another, as if the design continues to grow beyond the edges of the tapestry.

The work is connected to a font design inspired by cardiac chordae tendineae. From their bundles, bifurcations, and merging lines, the plasticity of the letters emerges: strokes draw toward one another and fuse into a unified form. The tapestry showcases the same logic up close, rendered in material. If the font composes words from such lines, the tapestry illustrates the fabric from which those lines originate.
