Unmarried Cossack woman from the Lower Don region in the second half of the 19th century

The objective of this module is to conduct extensive research into ethnic culture and costume as a source for developing a clothing collection. This project examines an ethno-social group—the Cossack subethnicity of the lower Don region. Based on this research, which draws from the anthropology of the Cossacks, the semiotics of costume elements, and the ensemble structure, the image of an unmarried Cossack girl from the second half of the 19th century has been reconstructed.
