The «Font 12 Stul’ev» is inspired by the eponymous novel by Ilf and Petrov. The concept is built around the images of chairs and puzzles, which allude to the work’s plot—a quest for hidden treasures.

The visual foundation of the typeface drew inspiration from three types of chairs: square, Viennese, and wrought iron with decorative scrolls. The distinctive features of their backs were reflected in the plasticity of the letters and formed the basis for three different series.
